Buying carp fishing tackle can be confusing, especially to newcomers to the sport. Magazine adverts will tell you that you need all the latest gear (at all the latest prices!) and that you'll fail dismally without it.

Of course, this is utter rubbish!

As this site grows, we intend to write a few buyer guides to help you choose the right carp fishing tackle to buy. If you're keen to get started and we haven't written the guide for you yet, then please take this advice on board:

Sit down, write down what you think you need and what you expect it to do. SET YOURSELF A BUDGET AND STICK TO IT. Then, use all the search engines and magazine articles at your disposal to narrow down your choice. Once you've done that, use the search box at the top of this page to get the latest offers and wait until you can get what you want at the the price you want.

It sounds simple, but I've been guilty of rushing in myself. I know how easy it is. Actually, it's very much like carp fishing itself - 99% of the time, the best thing to do is nothing. Observe what's going on, analyse it and THEN act.

To the left of this page, you should see links to the guides that we've already added. I hope that they are of some use to you.
